MARQUEE FOREMAN – JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview
The Marquee Foreman is responsible for leading on-site teams in the safe and efficient installation, dismantling, and maintenance of marquees and temporary event structures. This role oversees project execution from start to finish, ensuring all structures meet company standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, supervise, and motivate marquee installation crews on-site.
- Coordinate daily tasks, delegate work, and ensure timelines are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, site managers, and event coordinators.
- Conduct on-site briefings, safety talks, and job planning sessions.
Installation & Dismantling
- Oversee the erection and removal of marquees, tents, flooring, staging, and associated equipment.
- Ensure all structures are installed according to plans, engineering requirements, and safety standards.
- Operate and direct the use of tools, vehicles, and lifting equipment as required.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and provide practical solutions.
Health & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with workplace safety regulations and risk assessments.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective measures swiftly.
- Ensure all team members use proper PPE and follow safety protocols.
Quality Control
- Inspect structures for stability, alignment, and finish quality.
- Verify that all components are in good condition and properly secured.
- Address issues on-site to maintain high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
Logistics & Planning
- Manage loading, unloading, and inventory control of materials and equipment.
- Ensure vehicles are packed safely and efficiently for transport.
- Plan workforce needs based on job size and timelines.
- Report shortages, damages, and maintenance needs to management.
Team Development
- Train new crew members on safe and efficient work practices.
- Provide feedback to improve team performance and productivity.
- Foster a positive, cooperative, and respectful work environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience in marquee or temporary structure installation.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Ability to read site plans, layout drawings, and job specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
- Full, clean driver’s license (often required).
Preferred
- Experience with forklifts, telehandlers, or other site machinery.
- Certifications in manual handling, working at heights, or site safety.
- Experience in event production or construction environments.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor, fast-paced work environment.
- Early starts, long days, weekend and seasonal work may be required.
- Travel to various event or construction sites.
