Marquee Erector – Job Description

 

About Us

Arc Marquees is a leading marquee hire company based in Bathgate, West Lothian. We specialise in delivering high-quality temporary event structures for a wide range of events across Scotland and the UK.

We are currently recruiting hard‑working, reliable individuals to join our team as Marquee Installers. This is initially a 6‑month temporary position, with the potential to progress into a full‑time role for the right candidates.

 

The Role

As part of our installation team, you will:

  • Erect and dismantle marquee structures and event equipment
  • Support major events such as TRNSMT, the Royal Highland Show and many others
  • Maintain and prepare equipment
  • Assist with general warehouse and yard duties
  • Travel to event sites across Scotland and occasionally throughout the UK

Some projects may require overnight stays away from home. Accommodation and meals will be paid for by the company.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Reliable, punctual and presentable
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to think on your feet and use initiative
  • Work well as part of a friendly and focused team

A strong awareness of Health & Safety is essential due to the nature of the work.

Desirable (but not essential):
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • Previous marquee or event industry experience

 

Working Hours

Working hours vary depending on event schedules and may often exceed 48 hours per week, including weekend work when required. Start time is 06:45am at our yard in Bathgate (EH48 2EP).

 

Pay

  • Starting from £12.60 per hour
  • Time and a half for weekend work
  • Higher rates available for candidates with previous marquee experience, a full driving licence or a valid forklift licence

Requirements

  • Must be 18 or over
  • Must be able to travel to our Bathgate yard for a 06:45am start
  • No previous experience required – full on‑the‑job training will be provided
